WORCESTER, Mass. – Nella G. (Graves) Holmberg, 87, formerly of 7 Ivy St., died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, in Radius Healthcare of Millbury. Her husband, Gustaf A. Holm-berg, predeceased her in 1999. She leaves a son, William G. Holmberg of Warren; two daughters, Patricia Fahlbeck of Rutland, and Judi Nichols of Millbury; a brother, John Graves of Bangor; a sister, Mary Heath of Milo; five grandchildren, Kristina Jackson of Millbury, Scott Fahlbeck of Gardiner, Mark Fahlbeck of Boston, Lauren Holmberg and James Holmberg, both of Warren and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Close; and a sister, Phoebe, also predeceased her. She was born in Brownville Junction, the daughter of Gordon and Mary (Appleby) Graves and lived in Worcester, Mass., for most of her life. She graduated from Brownville Junction High School. Mrs. Holmberg was a sales clerk for seven years at Filene’s and then Denholm’s Department Store retiring in 1950. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and was a leader in the Brownies and was involved with the campfire girls. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St. There will be no calling hours.
