DOVER-FOXCROFT – Nellie M. Davis, 84, wife of the late Harold C. Davis, died March 2, 2008, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born Aug. 6, 1923, in Dover-Foxcroft, the daughter of Freeman and Maude (Wilson) Stevens. Nellie had worked for Winchester Firearms, Connecticut, for many years. She was particularly proud that she was the first woman to join the New Haven Sportsmen’s Club. She was as member of American Campers Association. Nellie attended the congregational church and was a member of Seniority Club, Dover-Foxcroft. She is survived by four daughters, Betty DeCosta and husband, Douglas, of South Meriden, Conn., Rose Porter and husband, David, of Dover-Foxcroft, Frances Emery and husband, Maurice, of Brownville and Patricia Benson of Parkman; 15 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Stevens and Leslie Wilson. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, with the Rev.
