BANGOR and GREAT POND Nina Benson Honey passed away peacefully Dec. 27, 2004, at Westgate Manor in Bangor. She was born Aug. 29, 1912, in South Portland, the daughter of Clinton W. and Grace Perkins Benson. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Henry and Nina Hook Perkins and attended Veazie Grade School, graduated from South Portland High School and Grays Business College. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Honey Vinton and her husband, Samuel R. Vinton; a son Peter B. Honey and Susan Kazlaskas; three grandchildren and their families, Lisa Vinton Buzzo and her husband, David A. Buzzo, Peter B. Honey Jr., and Asa R. Honey and his wife, Erika Cole Honey; five great-grandchildren, Alexandra L. Buzzo, Emma B. Honey, Samuel M. Honey, Asa R. Honey Jr., Morgan M. Honey; her very dear friend, Margaret Coffin; one sister-in-law, Etta M. Honey; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Nina lived in Great Pond for 48 years where she and her beloved husband, Frank Foster Honey owned and operated a sporting business and antique shop, Timberland Farm. Nina was Great Pond’s tax collector and treasurer for 34 years. Nina will be buried in a beautiful churchyard in Pentress, W.Va. beside her beloved husband Frank. A Service of Remembrance to celebrate Nina’s life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 S. Main Street, Brewer, with the Rev. Adam Soderberg, Pastor of the East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating. The family invites relative and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, 55 S. Main Street, Brewer, after the service.
