WASHBURN – Nina M. Tanguay, 89, died Friday, July 28, 2006 at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. She was born May 6, 1917, in Eagle Lake, the daughter of Perley and Mamie Daggett. Nina was a graduate of Presque Isle High School and also went on to hairdressing school. She was a self-employed hairdresser for many years in Ashland. She also was a cook for the Great Northern Logging Camps. After the death of her husband, Vasser, she moved to Augusta, Ga. for 25 years and worked as a maitre d’ at the Pinnacle Club. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, needlepoint, knitting and loved to cook and serve people. She is survived by grandsons, Roger Landry of New Jersey, Donald Landry of New York and Todd Tanguay of Texas; great-granddaughter, Casandra Landry of New Jersey; great-grandson, Leo Vasser Tanguay of Texas; sister, Tiny Roth of Florida. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Leo Tanguay; daughter, Lavoza Landry; and a brother, Harry “Bud” Daggett. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements in care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle.
