PRESQUE ISLE – Nora M. Cyr, 86, died Jan. 13, 2005 at a Presque Isle hospital after a brief illness. She was born March 3, 1918, in Van Buren, the daughter of Baptiste and Edith (Currier) Duplessie. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by three sons, Ivan Cyr Jr., and Richard Cyr and his wife, Roberta, all of Presque Isle, Donald Cyr and his wife, Lona, of Fort Fairfield; three daughters, Geraldine Plummer and her husband, Herbie, of St. Cloud, Fla., Robertine Reed and her husband, Stephen, of Spring, Texas, Sandra “Brenda” Hanson and her husband, David, of Milford; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Anita Desjardin of Van Buren; several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by a special friend, Michelle Cushman. She was predeceased by her husband, Ivan Z. Cyr Sr; two daughters, Phyllis Cyr and Betty Albert; three brothers, Levite Duplessie, Leo Duplessie and Lawrence Duplessie and a sister, Blanche Desjardin. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home with the Rev. Alfred Irving officiating. Spring interment will be in St. Mary’s North Main Street Cemetery, Presque Isle. Following the funeral family and friends are invited to the home of Ivan Cyr Jr., 6 Lincoln St., Presque Isle for a reception.
