ALEXANDER and PRESQUE ISLE – Norma Donahue, 69, loving wife, mother and Gram. She was born Dec. 20, 1936, to L.Lyston and Hazel (Cousins) Frost of Alexander and joined Sam on Jan. 31, 2006. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Charles (Bernie) Donahue of Alexander; three sons and their wives, David and Marion of Easton, Charles “Chick” and Lorrie of Presque Isle, Patrick and Anne of Baileyville; six grandchildren, Cara and Emily Donahue, James and Joey Donahue, Riley and Lauren Donahue; four stepgrandchildren, Katherine and Michelle Boomer, Tai and Michael Ireland; one brother, Charles Frost and his wife, Cathy, of Massachusetts; one sister, Zettie Shookus of Connecticut, several nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and neighbors. Besides her parents, Norma was predeceased by one son, Sam Donahue; two brothers, Darrell Frost and Lawrence Frost; and one grandson, Ryan Donahue. There were four sons of her body, but there are many sons of her heart, too many to mention by name. Those of you touched by her knew you were taken in like one of her own. Grandchildren were always a delight for her but the ones of her sons were not the only ones to call her Gram. All of those children were welcome and treated no differently than her own. All who knew Norma knew that her family, friends and gardening were the things she treasured most. She especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She could prepare a full course meal for a small army with only a moment’s notice. Norma touched many lives in her 69 years of life. The number was unclear until the time of need. To all the family and friends that have helped celebrate her life and support our family in the time of need, we thank you. At her request there will be no calling hours or funeral services. There will be a committal service in Presque Isle in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alexander Volunteer Fire Department, care of Gerald Cooper, Treasurer, 63 Dwelley’s Lake Rd., Alexander, ME 04694. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
