FORT FAIRFIELD – Norma J. McLaughlin, 72, devoted and loving wife of Charles “Buzzy” McLaughlin, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, June 20, 2007, at her Fort Fairfield residence. She was born Oct. 29, 1934, at Four Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Gordon and Clara (Langley) Everett. Norma attended Four Falls and Aroostook, New Brunswick, schools and was married to Charles McLaughlin Oct. 17, 1953. She was co-owner of McLaughlin’s Auto and Wrecker Service Inc., Fort Fairfield, and was an accomplished genealogist. She enjoyed doing crafts and ceramics, working in her garden and fishing. She loved to bake, especially bread, doughnuts and molasses cookies, and was a wonderful cook. Norma was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her dog and “pride and joy,” Rufus. She is survived by her husband of 53 years of Fort Fairfield; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dana McLaughlin and his wife, Debra, of Greenbush, Dale McLaughlin and his wife, Minga, of Palestine, Texas, and David McLaughlin and his companion, Becky Frost, of Fort Fairfield; four daughters and sons-in-law, Diana Kelley and her husband, Michael, of Caribou, Doris DeWitt and her husband, Malcolm, of Orting, Wash., Deborah Murchison and her husband, Greg, of Fort Fairfield and Darleen McGarrigle and her husband, Dale, of Hampden; six brothers and four sisters-in-law, Carl Langley of Fort Fairfield, Gordon Jr. and Jody Everett of Sun City, Fla., Gene and Velda Everett of Washburn, Don and Pam Everett of Bangor, Gerald and Debbie Everett of Tampa, Fla., and Allan Everett of Powell, Tenn.; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Joyce and Gary Lorenz of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., Phyllis Cox of Orrington, Edna Hodges of Plant City, Fla., Elise and Stan Bailey of Tupper Lake, N.Y., Margaret and Howard Norton of Seffner, Fla., and Leona and Harrison Davis of Florida; 22 grandchildren, Tony, Mark, Dayna Ann and Desarae McLaughlin, Adam Saucier, Krista McMillen, Macthew, McCauley and Michael DeWitt, Christopher Murchison, Amanda Bragg, Anita, Tina and Manuel Belmarz, Vanessa, Veronica, Christopher and Anthony McLaughlin, Amy McLaughlin, Michael Doucette, and Samantha and Benjamin McGarrigle; 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Norma was predeceased by three brothers, Morgan, Robert and Harold Everett; and one sister, Pauline Bouchey. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, June 25, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will be after at Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
