BANGOR – Norma M. Wilks, 81, died Feb. 18, 2008, at a local hospital. She was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Enfield, the daughter of Malcolm and Amy (Towle) Wilks. Norma was educated in the Bangor schools and graduated from Bangor High School. She enjoyed a lifelong career in banking in the Greater Bangor area. Norma was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church for many years and had been a volunteer in the gift shop at St. Joseph Hospital for a number of years. Surviving are a niece, Rose-mary Clowes; a nephew, Michael Sherwood; many cousins; close friends and caregivers, Karen and Rodney Duplisea; numerous other friends; and her beloved cat, Charley. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 225 French St., Bangor, with the Rev. Marguerite A. H. Steadman, rector, officiating.
