WASHBURN – Octavie Ruth Dow, 70, wife of the late Floyd Landeen, died Dec. 17, 2005, at Presque Isle. She was born July 19, 1935, at Woodland, the daughter of Hebert L. and Nettie (Langley) Dow. She was educated in the Washburn school system and was employed at the Aroostook Shoe Company in Presque Isle for 15 years and Potato Service for 15 years. She was also employed by various area farmers. Octavie was active with the Caribou Adult Learning Center, raising monies for the school and going on school trips. She enjoyed making quilts and liked riding in the woods. She had a fondness for animals and had a special cat, “Charlie,” who will truly miss her. She is survived by her cousin, Inez Connolly of Woodland. She was predeceased by three brothers, Sterling, Hebert Jr. and Milford Dow; and by a sister, Beatrice Dow. Graveside funeral services will be held in the spring at the Riverside Cemetery, Washburn and will be announced in the Bangor Daily News by the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou.
