CORINTH and HERMON – Orman E. Griffeth, 91, passed away peacefully April 9, 2007, surrounded by his family at his home in Hermon. He was born June 11, 1915, in Limestone, the son of Ernest and Della (Jenson) Griffeth. Orman was a truck driver all of his life, retiring from Quinn Freightline in 1974. After retirement Orman and Florence enjoyed traveling. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Florence (Clark) Griffeth of Hermon; two daughters, Reta Dixon of Richards, Texas, and Pearl Simpson of Hermon; one brother, Llewlyn Griffeth and his wife, Marion, of Massachusetts; two sisters, Dorothy Rumney of Connecticut and Marilyn Howard of Yarmouth; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Elwood; three sisters, Gertrude Hooper, Gladys York and Nettie Jackson. The family thanks Bangor Area Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Eastern Maine for their care. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
