BANGOR – Owen F. Spaulding, 86, died July 25, 2005, at a local hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Old Town, the son of Leon W. and Effie (Feero) Spaulding. Owen was a member of the Bangor Elks Club for many years. A long time enjoyment was watching harness racing at the Bangor Race Track and will miss his friends and winning horses. Owen retired from Maine Central Railroad after working as a car man for 38 years. He was an avid hunter and he has gone to meet his friend Tom Shanley to go hunting again. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mildred (Connelly) Spaulding of Bangor; two sons, Leon W. Spaulding of Hermon, Gary W. Spaulding of Levant; two brothers, Bud Spaulding of Ellsworth, Raymond Spaulding of Florida; a sister, Gloria Bullock of New Hampshire; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
