EAST MACHIAS – Pamela J. Dowling, 47, passed away June 3, 2006, unexpectedly. She was born Jan. 10, 1959, in Bangor, the daughter of James and Annie (Ackley) Schencks. Pam served in the U.S. Army. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and four-wheeling. She and her husband had recently built their dream home on Gardner’s Lake and she spent much time with her husband working around the property. She had a great love for animals, especially dogs. Pam was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, best friend, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 14 years, Clayton Dowling; daughter, Danielle Dennison of Jonesboro; sons, David Dowling of Machias; son, Christopher Dowling of Keene, N.H. and Jimmy Dowling of East Machias; parents, James and Annie Schencks of Jonesboro; grandmother, Olive “Nana” Ackley of Whitneyville; siblings, Lynn Presley and companion, John Polk, of Bucks Harbor, Kirby Schencks and wife, Patty, of Machiasport; nieces and nephews, Toshia Presley of Morgan Hill, Calif., James Presley of Jonesboro and Jordan Griffin of Machiasport; special friends, Steve and Marlene Berry; special friends and family, Henry and Rita Lund; many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and her special dog and baby, Cody.
