EASTPORT – Patricia K. Hanson, 66, died after the most courageous and incredible battle with cancer, she stood firmly in her faith and the belief that a miracle was possible, was taken home peacefully in her sleep to meet the Lord and live pain free for eternity on April 3, 2005, joining her son, Paul, who just recently went before her so he will be able to greet her at the gates of heaven with the Lord. Patricia entered this world Aug. 5, 1938. Patricia grew up in the Calais area and attended the Calais school system. She later on in life went back to the vocational school and completed a course in secretarial studies. Her children were so proud of her successes. In her adult life she worked in many of the fish factories in the area. She was employed at Creative Apparel right up until her battle with cancer started. Patricia loved God, family, and friends. Her family and friends adored her and her kids couldn’t have been more proud to have her as their mother. Patricia loved attending church, working, playing Bingo, putting together 3D puzzles, and singing songs of praise to her God. Patricia, even though her kids are adults, continued to be concerned with their well being and was proud of each of them. One of our prouder moments was when she married our stepfather 20 years ago. Our mother and Edward each held such a special place in each other’s heart that could never be forgotten or replaced. Patricia was predeceased by a brother, Francis; her mother, Eldoris; and her son, Paul Arseneau. Surviving are her husband, Edward Hanson Jr. of Eastport; a son and wife, Donald and Dianne Arseneau of Parsonsfield; and their three children and eight grandchildren; two daughters: Donna and Timothy Stuart of Clifton, Roseanne Conley and her children, Joshua, Amanda, Shaele Walter, Brianna Conley of Eastport. She also is survived by her grandson, Deven Paul Arseneau; her stepchildren, Edward Hanson III, Eric, Darren, Penny, and April Hanson and their children. She survived by many special friends; and very special former daughter-in-law, Ellen Arseneau; and by a special lady, Patty Craig, who held a special place in Mom’s heart, as she did in hers. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Flagg Funeral Home, 72 High St., Eastport, where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005, by Pastor Carl Smith of Perry.
