BANGOR – Paul C. Guerin, 66, passed away July 6, 2005. He was born May 5, 1939, in Old Town, the son of Katherine (Richards) Guerin and the late David A. Guerin. Paul graduated from Old Town High School in 1957. Paul began his career in the law enforcement in 1962 with the Old Town Police Department. In 1963, Paul left Old Town and joined the Bangor Police Department. Paul retired in 1983 with the rank of Sergeant. He also served as Superior and District Court Security Supervisor for Bangor, Lincoln and Newport. He is survived by his mother, Katherine Guerin of Old Town; three sons and their wives, Joseph and Stacey Guerin of Glenburn, Scott and Patti Guerin of Carmel, Daniel and Misti Guerin of Bangor; two brothers and a sister, David and wife, Toni Guerin of Connecticut, Roland Guerin of Lucerne, Cynthia and John Sturgeon of Bradley; eight grandchildren, Gabriel, Peter, Andrew, Caleb, Jesse, Scott, Timothy and Noah; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, David Guerin of Old Town; and brother, Dr. Gene Guerin of Veazie. Paul was an outstanding athlete at Old Town High School. He was a star football player and gained the nickname of “Mucker” because of his aggressive style of play. Paul also had the opportunity to play on the 1957 Class L State Championship Basketball Team that played in the New England Finals at the Boston Gardens. He also enjoyed outdoor sports as well. He especially liked to fish and hunt with his brothers and father. Visiting hours will be 2-4 p.m. Friday, July 8, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at The Hampden Community Church of the Open Door, 270 Main Road North, Hampden, immediately following the service. Private family burial service will be held at Veazie Cemetery at a later date.
