PRESQUE ISLE – Paul David Conlogue, 79, died Aug. 4, 2005, from complications of cancer at a Caribou health-care facility. He was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Houlton, the son of Albert and Cora (Cogan) Conlogue. Paul was a 1943 graduate of Houlton High School and, after service in World War II, he attended and graduated from Ricker College in Houlton, in 1952. Since 1962, he and his family resided in Presque Isle. Many of his working years were spent as an investigator for Pine Tree Legal Assistance, Inc. and as the house manager for the VFW Hayward-Frazier Post in Presque Isle, until he retired. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and finally saw them win their first World Series title in his entire lifetime in 2004. He took great pleasure in that. On Sept. 25, 1948, he married Emma O. Gray, the daughter of Eugene J. and Letitia (Travis) Gray, at St. Denis Parish in Fort Fairfield. This year would have marked their 57th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his loyal and dedicated wife, Emma; two sons and their wives, Eugene J. and Donna (Shaw) Conlogue of Presque Isle and Millinocket, and Jon A. and Donna (Olsen) Conlogue of Springfield, Mass.; grandchildren, Casey Lynn Robbins of Presque Isle and Thomas, Emily and Garrett Conlogue of Springfield, Mass.; great-grandchildren, Sherralyn and Kendall Robbins, of Presque Isle; step-grandchildren, Todd and his wife, Tonya (Ouellette) Simpson, and Dale Simpson and his wife, Deanna (Stevens) Simpson; great-grandchildren, Sherralyn and Kendall Robbins of Presque Isle; and step-grandchildren, Chelsea, Brandon, Noah, and Alexis Simpson, all of Presque Isle. In addition, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Alwilda Munson of Wiscasset; and several nieces and nephews including, Barbara Clevette of Caribou, Jane Zagranis and husband, Rudy, of Caribou, Dale Johnston and wife, Judy, of Mars Hill, David Johnston and wife, Glenda, of Greenbush, Bernard Johnston and wife, Dottie, of Kingston, N.H., Terry Golan and husband, Itzchak, of Brunswick, and James Munson and wife, Lori, of Wiscasset. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert (1951) and Cora (1978); sisters, Doris Conlogue (1922) and June Johnston(1979); grandson Troy Conlogue (1975); and step-grandson, Billy Simpson (1992). The family wishes to extend its deepest appreciation to all of Paul’s doctors, nurses, and other caregivers at The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle and the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou for all they did to help him through his final challenge. Special thanks are also extended to Father Jean-Paul LaBrie for visiting him at the Maine Veterans Home and blessing him with the anointing of the sick. Friends may call 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Church Street, Presque Isle, with Father Raymond Morency officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery immediately after the service.
