PRESQUE ISLE – Paul E. Savard, 91, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Nov. 16, 1915, at St. Johnsbury, Vt., the son of Emile and Delima (Baril) Savard. He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Paul was a plumber by trade. He worked and retired from A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital, Presque Isle, as a main engineer. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2524, Presque Isle. Paul is survived by a son, Emile Savard; and his wife, Christine, of South Branch, Mich.; a daughter, Marilyn Singletary and her husband, Robert, of Valdosta, Ga.; a brother, Maurice Savard of Cornish; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice (Cote) Savard; and an infant daughter, Rita. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Interment will be at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery, Presque Isle. Those who wish may donate in memory of Paul to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, P.O.
