FRANKLIN and WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Paul J. O’dea, 90, of West Chester, Pa. and Franklin died Sunday, July 10, 2005, at his home in West Chester. He is survived by his wife, Maryclaire McCloskey O’Dea; a son, Jack O’Dea; daughters, Molly O’Dea and Joan E. Hewzcuk, Joan’s husband, Tom; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. O’Dea was born in Scranton, Pa. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Preparatory School in Scranton and was a member of the first graduating class of the University of Scranton. He also completed graduate work in library science at Kutztown University. After 25 years of service Mr. O’Dea retired from Paoli Area School District in 1977. In 1980, he became a founding member of the Bethesda Project for which he served as a volunteer until the end of 2004. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, July 15, at Daylesford Abbey, South Valley Road, Paoli, Pa. Burial will follow an 8 a.m. Mass Wednesday, July 20, at St. Joseph’s Church, Ellsworth.
