WESTFIELD – Pauline Burlock Dodson passed away peacefully March 17, 2005, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Dorne Ridge, York County, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Watson and Mary Burlock. Pauline graduated from Aroostook Central Institute in Mars Hill, Class of 1944. She was a talented, well-respected lady who thrived on being a jack-of-all trades. Her passions were her family, gardening, sewing, reading, writing, crossword puzzles, decorating for the holidays, collecting antiques before it was popular, fashion, and traveling. Her many friends and family loved her for her wonderful spirit and personality, as well as her unique sense of humor. During the years Pauline lived outside the State of Maine she returned often to visit her parents and family. In 1986, Pauline retired to her home in Westfield, after living many years in California and Texas. She was happy to reunite with family and old friends. Each summer she lovingly tended her flowers and yard. From her computer she read the daily newspapers from cities and towns where she once lived or visited. Some of Pauline’s fondest memories were of times spent at Big Machias Lake and Dingley Island where she enjoyed quiet walks, the water, and nature. Pauline is survived by her four beloved children, Sterling Dodson and his wife, Jean, of Highlands Ranch, Colo. Mary Diane Kozumplik and her husband, George, of Lompoc, Calif.; Bonnie Gammon and her husband, Don, of Danville, Calif.; and Terry Dodson of Prescott, Ariz. Also surviving Pauline are the following; her devoted sister, brother, and sister-in-law, Jean Burlock Porter of Castle Hill and Walter and Sara Burlock of Harpswell; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephew, Nancy Porter Graves, Judy Porter Griffin, Tracy Burlock Leuchtenberger, Kelly Burlock Palaima and Buzz Burlock; and cousins, Clarice Roxborough and Dorothy Stairs. In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her granddaughter, Dora Kozumplik; her brother-in-law, Roger Porter; her niece, Jill Porter; and dear friends, Avis Townsend, Lois Barton and Opal Cushman. At her request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Pauline may donate to Hospice of Aroostook, P.O.
