BANGOR and FORT KENT Pauline Guyon Guerette went peacefully to the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 3, 1913, in Montreal, Quebec, daughter of Emile and Mary Louise Guyon. Pauline graduated from the Joliette Normal School in 1930, after which she worked as a teacher for the next 10 years. In September of 1949, she married Raymond Guerette, the love of her life and they moved to the Saint John Valley, where Raymond was employed by Great Northern Paper Co., retiring after 35 years. Upon settling in their spacious home in Fort Kent, they raised four sons. Pauline was a long-term communicant of St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, where she served as a lecturer and Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne and associate member of Little Lady Franciscans of Mary. Art was one of Pauline’s passions and she captured the essence of rural New England in her work. Pauline also enjoyed her many friends, summer golf outings and her love of card games. Upon their move to Sunbury Village in 2000, she became involved in all the social programs and made many new friends. Most of all she enjoyed sharing her love of cooking with her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond Guerette of Bangor; four beloved sons and 12 grandchildren, Robert and his wife, Candace, their children, Joshua Bears and Aimee Guerette, Dan and his wife, Phyllis, their children, Jeffery, Sarah and Benjamin, Norm and his wife, Theresa, their children, Emily Read and husband, Scott, Philip, Michael and William, Roland and his wife, Diane, their children, Mitchell, Kevin and Lisa; as well as one great-grandchild, John Read. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, 754 Ohio St., Bangor, with a reception to begin immediately afterward. Interment will be at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Kent, at a date to be announced later. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
