MOUNT DESERT – Polly Black, 81, died Dec. 19, 2005, at the Sonogee Rehabilitation and Living Center in Bar Harbor. She was born April 16, 1924, the daughter of Pearl and Alberta (Seavey) Richardson. Polly worked as a research assistant at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor for more than 35 years. She is survived by her sister, Norma Vollmer and her husband, Albert, of Mount Desert; her nephew, John Vollmer and his children, Chelsea and Michael of Mount Desert. She is also survived by her companion of many years, her black and white cat, Prince “Blackie.” She was predeceased by her son, David Bordeaux; and her nephew, Jay Vollmer. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth. Donations may be made in memory of Pauline, to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160B, Portland, ME 04101 or to the Southwest Harbor Animal Shelter, P.O.
