MADAWASKA – Irene Ayotte, 92, died Dec. 12, 2005, at a Madawaska nursing home. She was born July 22, 1913, in St. David, the daughter of Alexis and Josephine (Albert ) Dufour. She is survived by five sons, Albert Ayotte and his wife, Millie, of Albuquerque, N.M., Patrick Ayotte, Jr. and his wife, Patsy, of Frenchville, Louis Ayotte and his wife, Brigette, of Bristol, Conn., Roger Ayotte and his wife, Pauline, and John Ayotte and his wife, Anne, all of Madawaska; seven daughters, Eloise Gauvin and her husband, Patrick, of E. Hartford, Conn., Doris Arsenault and her husband, Robert, of Baker, La., Viola Cyr and her husband, Alphie, of Wolcott, Conn., Rina Bosse and her husband, Jim, of Madawaska, Florence Mallet and her husband, Levi, and Bernice Theriault and her husband, Roger, all of Edmundston, N.B., Canada, Rose Marie Levasseur and her husband, Alderic, of Green River, N.B.; two sisters, Marie Louise Raymond of Frenchville, Sr. Cecile Dufour of St. Basile, N.B.; 35 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Ayotte Sr. in 1969; by one granddaughter, Sandy Ayotte; and by one great-granddaughter, Drew Arsenault. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madawaska. Friends and relatives may call at the Daigle Funeral Home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
