ORONO – Barbara E. Beaulieu, 79, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg, Pa., where she had been a resident in the Alzheimer’s unit since March of 2001, after being a resident of Orono for more than 50 years. She was born April 24, 1926, in Bangor, the daughter of Norman Cary and Gladys Robinson. Barbara retired from Fleet (Merrill) Bank in Orono after 19 years serving the college community that she so loved. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Orono. Barbara enjoyed a life long passion for cooking, reading cookbooks, traveling and shopping. She especially loved spending time with her family and close friends including her mall walkers. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John J. Beaulieu in 1997; and her son, John “Johnny” J. Beaulieu Jr. in 2002. A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by a daughter, Mary Ellen Allen and husband, Chuck, of Scarborough; and a son, Jeffrey Beaulieu and wife, Susan, of Enola, Pa.; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Allen) Robertson and husband, Rick, of Brewer, Chad Allen and wife, Kelly, of Scarborough, John Allen of Gorham, Julie Beaulieu and Michelle Beaulieu of Enola, Pa.; four great-grandchildren, Haley and Grace Robertson, Dawson and Cole Allen; cousins, Glenis Bell of Bangor, Joan Robertucci of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews and her very special life long friend, Pug Wright of Bangor. Friends are invited to meet with the family to celebrate Barbara’s life, 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Wilfred Labbe, pastor, celebrant.
