LEBANON, N.H. – Pauline “Polly” Robbins, 31, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, after a courageous two-year battle with breast cancer at Lebanon Center-Genesis, New Hampshire. She was born Dec. 19, 1976, in Bangor, to Larry and Zeny Robbins. Polly attended Milford Grammar School and graduated from Old Town High School. She went on to New England School of Communication, NESCOM, while at NESCOM, she held two positions, one as a DJ for WWMJ Magic 95.7 and as a production assistant for Channel 5, Bangor. After graduation, she was employed as a DJ at B97 Radio Station, Bangor. During this time she met Ryan Loyd and they married June, 19, 1999. They moved to the Upper Valley, where she began working for KIXX 100.5 Radio Station as a DJ. Polly then took a position at Oldies 104.3 as a DJ, where she helped bring the ratings to the number one spot demographically in the area. Most recently she had been working for NTK Koor Communications as a DJ. Pauline continued broadcasting when she was able in between her treatments. She had always been a supporter of cancer research and self-breast exams well before she was diagnosed. Polly was very artistic, she enjoyed drawing, photography, karaoke and was known as a practical joker. Polly was a member of International Women of the World and able to speak several different languages. While being treated for breast cancer at Norris Cotton Cancer Center, she volunteered to receive experimental treatment and clinical trials. Her hope was to help others in the future. Recently there was a radio broadcast in honor of Pauline “Polly’s Think Pink Radio-thon” to help raise money for cancer research. This radio-thon was broadcast by more than 20 radio stations throughout New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine and Massachusetts; they were able to raise more than 42 thousand dollars. She is survived by her husband, Ryan Loyd of Lebanon, N.H.; her parents, Larry and Zeny Robbins of Milford; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Joyce Loyd of Austin, Texas; one aunt, Donna Ulmer of Nashville, Tenn.; many friends; and her cat, Sammy.
