MAPLETON- Pearline Frances (Lovering) Chase, 89, died unexpectedly Jan. 23, 2004, at a Caribou healthcare facility, while recuperating from recent surgery. She was born Feb. 6, 1915, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Bishop) Lovering. He graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1933. She married Lewis Frazier Chase of Westfield, on April 6, 1933. Upon her marriage she became a farmer’s wife, mother and homemaker and lived for more than 60 years on their dairy and potato farm in Mapleton. She was a woman of strong faith who had a great love of family. She was an active member for many years of the State Road Advent Christian Church and the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed cooking, camping, poetry, crossword puzzles and card games and was a friend and confidant to many. She is survived by her four children, Donald Chase and his wife, Harriet, of Mapleton, Carrie Swiencki and her husband, John, of North Richland Hill, Texas, Judy Vinci and her husband, Joe, of Glastonbury, Conn., and Vaughn Chase and his wife, Laura, of Mapleton; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by a special friend Hazel Case of Perham. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis, in 1991. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Lewis and Fred Lovering; and sisters, Mary and Leola Lovering. Graveside services will be held at South Side Cemetery, Mapleton, in the spring with Rev. Larry Palmer presiding. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, New England Affiliate, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
