BANGOR – Peggy J. Burns, 65, died unexpectedly Aug. 11, 2008, at her home. She was born March 26, 1943, in Schenectady, N.Y., the daughter of Robert and Ecla (Nichols) Barbeau. Peggy graduated from the University of Maine and work-ed for a social agency for many years. She enjoyed volunteering with the elderly and the less fortunate. Peggy also enjoyed embroidering and was the “Queen” of the yard sales. She will be sadly missed by her former clients and friends, and especially her two cats, Princess and Georgie. Peggy is survived by her daughter, Julia and her husband, William Pesce, of Tewks-bury, Mass.; her son, John Burns and his wife, Paloma, of Madison, Wis.; her sister, Jacqueline and her husband, Gary Callahan, of Windsor; and her brother, William Barbeau of Gardner. A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Friends may call noon Saturday until the time of the service.
