PASSADUMKEAG and LITTLETON – Percy A. Sewell, 87, passed away Nov. 22, 2007. Percy was born May 5, 1920, in Littleton, the son of Elbridge and Goldie (Allen) Sewell. Percy lived his young life in Littleton and also served during World War II. He returned to Littleton until he relocated to Passadumkeag with his loving wife, Ruth. Percy was a quiet man, who got much pleasure in doing outside yard work, and feeding the birds and squirrels. He was often found mowing the lawn on the John Deere tractor even when it wasn’t particularly needed. Percy also greatly enjoyed going to church. Percy is survived by his wife of 21 years, Ruth; and her three children, Sharon and husband, John Griggs, of Georgia, Charles and his wife, Linda McPhee, of Milford, and Betty and her husband, Blaine Batchelder Sr. of Enfield; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Guy Sewell of Littleton, and Elbridge and wife, Fern Sewell, also of Littleton; two sisters, Pauline Cole of Poland Springs and Elva Beckwith of Washburn; one sister-in-law, Lillian Sewell of Plantsville, Conn.; as well as many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Leyton, Vaughn and David; and four sisters, Maxine, Ruth, Joyce and Helen. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Cardville United Pentecostal Church, Cardville. Burial will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Monticello Cemetery, Water Street, Monticello.
