VAN BUREN – Percy J. Cormier, 84, died Dec. 1, 2004 at a Van Buren nursing home. He was born July 21, 1920, in Cyr Plantation, the son of John B. and Genevieve (Ouellette) Cormier. He was employed as a carpenter for area contractors for many years. Percy is survived by three sons, Larry Cormier and Richard Cormier, both of Grand Isle, Carl Cormier of Boston, Mass.; three daughters, Marlene Cormier, Linda Caron, and Joyce Martin, all of Van Buren; two sisters, Lilly Levesque and Ruby Madore, both of Van Buren; 19 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by four sons, Jerry Cormier, Rodney Cormier, James Cormier, and Daniel Cormier; one daughter, Jacqueline Chamberlain, and by a grandson, Tony Cormier. At his request there will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church.
