HOULTON – Percy J. McPhee, 80, died May 22, 2007, at his residence. He was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Weston, the son of Charles R. and Alma (Whitney) McPhee. Percy was a member of the Houlton United Methodist Church, life member of the American Legion, and life member of Houlton Lodge of Elks. Percy served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Maine Central Railroad for nine and one half years, various brokerage firms for GSA and U.S. Immigration Service, retiring in Oct. 3, 1997. Percy is survived by his children, Kim and Peggy of Levant, Charles and Martha of Alexander, Kevin and Jayne of New Limerick, Lorrie and Doug Growe of Hampden, and Tara and Scott Austin of Houlton; 12 grandchildren, Michele McPhee, Jennifer Leslie, Corey, Brad and Devon McPhee, Zachary and Hannah Growe, Marc, Chris and Ben Austin, Dianne Hawes, and Jamie Dolan; 14 great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Riley and Ian Coleman, Joshua and Jordan Leslie, Daniel McPhee, Kate McPhee, Allison, Courtney and Kayla Beaton, Cortney and Cameron Hawes, Danyette and Bradley Dolan; two brothers, Ainsley McPhee of Bath and Dean McPhee of Brewer; one sister, Freda Grant of East Holden; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating.
