BREWER – Perley Raymond Langley, 72, died Oct. 24, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 21, 1931, in Presque Isle, the son of Raymond and Luella (Hoffess) Langley. Mr. Langley served three years in the Army, stationed in Germany. He returned to Presque Isle and began his career in transportation, working for Coles Express and P.D. Cokley. He was then employed as director of transportation for Potato Service/J.R. Simplot. In 1987, he came to Bangor as customer service representative for Dysart’s Trucking, retiring in May 2000. Mr. Langley was a longtime member and past president of the Central Aroostook Association of Retarded Citizens (CAARC) and a member of the Second Congregational Church, Brewer. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nellie; his children, Raymond and his wife, Mary Langley, of Manassas, Va., Judy and her husband, Michael Talbot, of Hudson, Ohio, Janice and her husband, Colin Sobers, of Snellville, Ga.; Randy and his wife, Gala Langley, of Flower Mound, Texas; seven grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Langley, Christopher and Sean Talbot, Brandon, Jacob and Carson Langley; a sister, Shirley Toner of Bangor; a brother, Carl Langley of Presque Isle and many dear friends. Mr. Langley was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Clayton. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Scott Cleveland, pastor of the Second Congregational Church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Brookings-Smith Reception Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer, following the service.
