MACHIAS and HOLIDAY, Fla. – Peter Jeffrey Grange, 58, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2006, surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. Peter was born Oct. 13, 1948, in Providence, R.I., the son of Norman George and Marie Eloise (Davis) Grange. He was reared and educated in North Providence and Providence, R.I., and he worked as a painter of both interior and exterior on homes. Peter was well known throughout Washington County for his exceptional talent. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Community of Christ. Survivors include his daughter, Gina Grange of Gainesville, Fla.; his son, Peter “P.J.” Grange of Holiday, Fla.; son, Christopher Grange of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; mother, Marie Sanborn of Machias; father and wife, Norman and Marjorie Grange of New Port Richey, Fla.; brothers, Norman Grange and wife, Claudia, of Farmington, N.M., and Mark Grange of Las Vegas; sisters, Eloise Reynolds and her partner, Gregory Harmon, of East Machias and Ann Grange of Machias; half brother, Tyler Grange and wife, Dee, of Raleigh, N.C.; 10 nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. Pete was predeceased by his grandparents; stepfather, Gil Sanborn; brother, Gregory Grange; Uncle Cappy; Uncle Clem; and Aunt Billy. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Machias Community of Christ Church, R.L.D.S., North Street, Machias. Graveside services will be held after the service in Kennebec. Cremation is being handled by Dobie Funeral Home, Florida.
