PITTSBURGH, N.H. – Phebe C. (Adams) Roix, 96, a former Salem, N.H. resident died Monday night, Sept. 13, 2004, at the Upper Conn, Valley Hospital in Colebrook. N.H. She had been a Pittsburg resident for the past four years. She was born and educated in Perth, New Brunswick, Canada and came to the United States at the age of 10. She made her home in Chapman and had also resided in Presque Isle and Augusta. In 1962, she moved to Salem, N.H. and lived there until 1991. Mrs. Roix was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salem, N.H. and the Bethany Baptist Church in Presque Isle. She was the wife of the late Sidney B. Roix and the mother of the late Maxine Harrington. She is survived by one son, Richard and his wife, Arleen Roix of Londonderry, N.H.; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; six great-grand-children; 16 great-stepgrand-children; four great-great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Cassie Roix and Effie Grass, both of Presque Isle. Relatives and friends are invited to funeral services 11 a.m. Friday, at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, 214 Main St., Salem, N.H., followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Sale. Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
