PHILIP E. JALBERT ST. JOHN PLANTATION Philip E. Jalbert, 82, died July 9, 2007, at a Fort Kent health care facility. He was born April 18, 1925, in St. Francis, the son of Sam and Delia (Jandreau) Jalbert. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 133 of Fort Kent, member of the DAV and a past member of the VFW of Fort Kent. He was also a member of the Iron Workers Union Local No. 496. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Pelletier Morse Jalbert of St. John; 16 children, Louis Belanger of Tennafly, N.J., Naomi Nicholas and her husband, Danny, of Fort Kent, Marie Killarney and her husband, Jim, of Cross Lake, Philip Jalbert and his wife, Joyce, of New Canada, Phyllis Jalbert of Quebec, Mark Jalbert and his wife, Louise, of Hermon, Sam Jalbert and his wife, Brita, of Geen, N.Y., Jeff Jalbert and his wife, Ina, of New Preston, Conn., Michael Jalbert and his wife, Patricia, of St. Agatha, Joseph Jalbert and his wife, Faye, of Indiana, Jenny Jalbert of Waterbury, Conn., Timothy Jalbert and his wife, Sharon, of New Milford, Conn., Daniel Jalbert and his wife, Bernadette, of St. John, Ruth Abbott and her husband, Steve, of New Milford, Conn., Paul Jalbert and his wife, Cindy, of Cross Lake and Paula Bacon and her husband, Randy, of Easton; seven brothers and sisters, Maynard Jalbert of Caribou, Patrick Jalbert of Allagash, Peggy McGreal of Portland, Lorraine Rhodes of Bangor, Ray Jalbert of Fort Kent, Betty Elizabeth Pecoraro of Fort Kent, and George Jalbert of Wallagrass; 44 grandchildren, many great-grand–children, many nieces and nephews. Philip was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Madeline (Berube) Jalbert; his second wife, Marcela (Berube) Jalbert; and three brothers, Earl, Irvin and Rex Jalbert. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday until time of service at Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent, with the Rev. James Nadeau officiating.
