BANGOR – Phyllis Anne O’Neill Furlong Stone, 73, died July 16, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 22, 1932, on North Haven Island, the daughter of Raymond E. and Beatrice (Lobley) Stone. She was known as a selfless, gentle and caring woman, an amazing mom and an inspirational gram. She is survived by her children, Janet Dunigan and husband, James, of Arizona, Kathleen Kramer of California, John O’Neill of Bangor, Tim O’Neill and wife, Cindy, of North Carolina, James O’Neill of Bangor, Peggy O’Neill of Bangor, Ellie O’Neill of Hampden, Roberta Gildart and husband, Jim, of Corinth; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Pearse of Hope; and brother, Peter Polk of Greenbush. She was predeceased by her parents, sons, Danny and Eddie; husband, Jim Furlong; and son-in-law, Jeff Kramer. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Fr. Roland Nadeau presider. Interment will be in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery.
