STOWE, Vt., and HOULTON Phyllis Ingersoll, 91, passed away peacefully April 17, 2008, at a Houlton health care facility. She was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Addison, daughter of Moses and Violet (Dalot) Looke. Phyllis lived with her family in Ellsworth and Marlborough, Conn., for many years. She relocated to Stowe, Vt., and Houlton after the death of her husband in 2000. She and her husband, Gordon, were married for 65 years. She was a very loving and devoted mother. Phyllis enjoyed crocheting many unique articles for her family and friends, which are dearly cherished. She also was an avid Scrabble player and it was very difficult to end up the winner when you played with her. She was a devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Jane Johnston and her husband, Everett, of Houlton and Judie Musetti Joplin of Hancock; a son, Stanley Ingersoll and his wife, Sandra, of Stowe, Vt.; 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Farren and her husband, Everett, of Addison; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Ingersoll; her daughter, Cynthia Rankl; three brothers, Stanley, Louis and Malcolm; and a sister, Betty Emerson. A memorial service will be held in Stowe, Vt., at a later date.
