ROCKLAND – Priscilla S. Crockett, 90, died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Windward Gardens, Camden, after a long period of declining health. Born Nov. 25, 1915, in Rockland, she was a daughter of Ansel and Pauline Lindsay Saunders. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Rockland High School and a 1938 graduate of Gorham Normal School. In 1947, she married Edgar C. Crockett in Thomaston. For more than 39 years she served as a teacher in Thomaston schools, retiring as principal of Lura Libby School. She was a founding member of the Rockland Area Zonta Club, a member of Knox County Teachers Association, and the Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Crockett was pre-deceased by her husband in 1993, two brothers, Donald and Robert; and one sister, Jeanette. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Duplin and her husband, Raymond, of Scarborough; her devoted nephew, Nelson Crockett and his wife, Teri, of Hope; as well as several other nieces and nephews. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visiting hours and interment at Achorn Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice, care of Northeast Health, 22 White St., Rockland, ME 04841. Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock St., Rockland.
