BELFAST – Ralph A. Knight Sr. of Belfast and Chesapeake, Va., died Thursday Dec. 22, 2005, at his home in Virginia. Born Sept. 6, 1908, in Northport, he was the son of Lewis and Marybelle (Elwell) Knight. Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked at the Penobscot Poultry, was a member of the Little River Baptist Church, Belfast and celebrated his 50th year with the Masons, Feb. 1995. Ralph was predeceased by his first wife, Hazel in 1969; his second wife, Grace in 1993; and one daughter, Voney Bates in 1992. He is survived by two sons, Ralph A. Knight Jr. of Maine and Florida and Clayton Knight of Chesapeake, Va.; six daughters, Dorothea Young of Rockland, Lucille Fuller of Bradenton, Fla., Merlene Hahn of Belfast, Beverly Taylor of Thomaston, Donna Bowen of Swanville, and Laurie Ward of Belfast; one sister, Elizabeth Ross of Bradenton, Fla. and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
