DENNYSVILLE – Ralph E. Gardner, 78, died Jan. 22, 2006, at a Lubec nursing home. He was born July 10, 1927, in Dennysville, the son of Richard and Theresa (Carter) Gardner. He served his country in the U.S. Army and worked for many years as a truck driver. He enjoyed gardening and his pets. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. He is survived by a brother, Ernest and his wife, Mary, of Kentucky; a sister, Enda and her husband, Russell, of Colorado; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Gardner of Florida and Anna Moores of Trescott; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind special friends, Joann C. Wood and Richard Prouty of Edmunds and Lucy Preston of Marion Township. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary (McConnell) Gardner; a brother, Albert; and sister, Hazel Sprague. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, at the Dunn Cemetery, Route 191, Trescott, with Pastor William Sawtelle, officiating. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Lubec.
