BANGOR – Ralph “Sonny” E. Cammack, 71, passed away peacefully Sept. 28, 2007, with his loving wife and children by his side at home. He was born July 18, 1936, in Bangor, the son of Albert and Margaret (Berry) Cammack. Ralph was employed for many years at Viner Brothers, Spot Built, Bendy and Ansewn Shoe Co. He served with the 136 Engineering Co., Brewer, from April 1955 to April 1958. After his retirement he looked forward to spending time with his wife, Laurie, his children and grandchildren. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. “All you had to do was ask him.” He will be greatly missed by his devoted pets, Cody and JoJo. All through his illness he never lost his great sense of humor even up until the end. Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 51 years, Laurie (Paul) Cammack of Bangor, are four loving children, Julie Dexter of Bangor, Jeff and his wife, Carmen Cammack, of Dedham, Ralph Jr. and his wife, Vivian Cammack, of Brewer and Joseph Cammack of Bangor; four sisters, Donna Sanders of Bangor, Marlene Ellingwood of Holden, Janetta Lowder and Susan Bartley, both of Holden; two brothers, Gary and his wife, Patty Cammack, and Michael Cammack, all of Holden. He also will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Jessica and her husband, Matthew Degrasse, of Bradley, April Cammack of Portland, Annie Cammack and Joseph Cammack Jr. of Bangor, Ashley Dexter and Richard Dexter Jr. of Bangor, Ralph III and Chenoa Cammack of Bre-wer; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Degrasse. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Donald Cammack; and his sister, Paula Cammack. Special thanks to Dr. Kevin Miller for his support and kindness and many thanks to New Hope Hospice of Holden, especially Jim. A service of remembrance will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with his nephew, Timothy Paul of Massachusetts, officiating.
