PRESQUE ISLE – Ralph W. Wilcox Sr., 97, loving father and grandfather, passed away May 22, 2004, at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 2, 1907, in Presque Isle, the son of Waldo and Ida (Pulcifer) Wilcox. He was a long time member of the State St. Baptist Church in Presque Isle. Ralph had been employed at the Bob Woodworth farm for many years. He had also been employed at the State Theatre and the Braden Theatre for several years. His love of gardening, especially flowers, was well known. Surviving him are his son and his wife, Ralph W. Wilcox Jr. and Janice of Presque Isle; five grandchildren, Donna Jackson, Barbara Jackson, Kimberly Dudley, Nichole Viele and Stephen Wilcox; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Nathan Wilcox of Presque Isle; a sister, Rachel Dow of Fredericton, New Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Maxine (Murphy) Wilcox; a daughter, Harriett Jackson; a grandson, Russell Jackson; and brothers and sisters, Walter, Howard, Reldon, Edna, Dorothy and Olive. Funeral services will held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., with the Rev. John Boyd and Michael Shaw officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle.
