CARIBOU – Randolph “Randy” S. Ford, 74, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008, surrounded by his family, at his residence. Randy was born May 12, 1934, in Bronx, N.Y., the son of Sydney and Thelma (Anderson) Ford. After he graduated high school, Randy enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served as an x-ray technician. After his military retirement, he continued working in civil service at Loring Air Force Base. He was a member of VFW Lister-Knowlton Post No. 9389, the American Legion and Caribou United Baptist Church. Randy loved to play bingo and spent many hours playing at the VFW. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends and watching movies, especially science fiction. He is survived by children, Randolph, Rosalyn, Michelle and Monique Ford, John Cook, Faith Patterson, Anita Derr, Bill Cook, Allan Cook, Carol Greenway, Sue Parr and Patrick Coogan; as well as several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Benford Ford; a sister, Barbara Miller; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Florence (Carr) Ford, in 2007. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday at the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou, with Elder Walter Elliot officiating.
