HOWLAND – Raymond A. Grindle Sr., 68, died May 12, 2006, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born June 4, 1937, in Orono, the son of Albert and Marjorie (Jellison) Grindle. Raymond was a very hard worker. He loved his family very much. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, the Boston Celtics, and was a big supporter of local sports teams. He is survived by his wife, Muriel (Spearin) Grindle of Howland; one son, Raymond A. Grindle Jr. and Linda of Howland; four daughters, Wendy Sue Parent and Kevin of Milford and Shannon Kimberly Murdoch and Heather of Washington state, Pauline LeClair and Joseph of Howland and Colleen Clough and Bob of Lincoln; two brothers, Ernest Grindle and Mary and Lawrence Grindle and Ruth Ann; nine grandchildren, Kourtney and Katie Grindle, Michael, Anthony and Christopher Parent, Tyla Crocker, Dylan LeClair, Stormey Clough, and Shayne Dill; his mother-in-law, Muriel Spearin; three sisters-in-law, Judith and Ronald Lindquist, Cheryl and Maynard Maxwell and Beverly and Alan Pendleton; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a special cat, Ollie. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by an infant daughter, Kimberly Jean Grindle; an infant granddaughter, Ashley Jean Grindle; two brothers, Robert and George Grindle. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Monday, May 15, at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Young officiating.
