BANGOR – Raymond B. Libby, 83, died Dec. 27, 2005, at his home in Bangor. He was born April 10, 1922, in Hampden, the son of Ernest and Edna (Thomas) Libby. Raymond worked at Kraft Foods and Standard Brands prior to founding Libby Distributing, until his retirement in the mid 1980’s. His family was his life and he will be sadly missed. He is survived by two sons, Reg Libby and wife, Chris, of Bangor, Dan Libby and wife, Joanne, of Holden; two brothers, Donald Libby and wife, Chris, of Hampden, Gerald Libby and wife, Chloe, of Carmel; four grandchildren, Kassandra Brewer and husband, Adam, of Bangor, Kyle Libby and friend, Diane Lackie, of Bangor, David Libby of Bangor, Michael Libby of Portland; four great-grandchildren, Sarah, Addison, Evan and Katelynn. Raymond was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Golda (Robinson) Libby in 2004; a brother, Morris Libby; and a sister, Alice Howard. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday Dec. 30, with the Rev. Art Gowie, officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. Gifts in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
