ELLSWORTH – Raymond Chan, 53, died June 27, 2004, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., after he fought a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Nov. 11, 1950, in Canton, China, the son of Fai Kwong and Chui Kam (Kwong) Chan. Raymond was very strong willed and never gave up hope. He worked as a chef for 15 years. Raymond was known as a very loving, caring and thoughtful husband, father, brother, friend, and a hard worker and a good leader. He is survived by his wife, Winnie (Tong) of Ellsworth; a son, Victor Chan; daughters, Hiedi Chan and Candice May Chan, all of Ellsworth; three brothers, Bob Chan and wife, Fong, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Peter Chan, and wife, Yan Ming, of Lewiston and Tom Chan and wife, Sophia, of Chino, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and good friends. He was predeceased by his parents. Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2004, at the Jordan-Fernald Funeral Home, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held at 9 a.m., July 2, 2004.
