EASTON – Raymond F. Cullins, 78, died early morning Jan. 13, 2004, at the Cary Medical Center in Cari-bou. He was born June 21, 1925 in Presque Isle, the son of Clayton and Marion (Gould) Cullins. Mr. Cullins attended elementary school in Easton and Hodgdon High School. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, served in active duty in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946. He worked for five years as a Maine State Potato inspector, and was self employed as a carpenter for 30 years. He was a longtime and faithful member of the Pine Tree Baptist Church of Easton, where he served on numerous church committees, and organizations, the last being Honorary Deacon. Mr. Cullins is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vera (Kinney) Cullins of Easton; two sons, Darrell Cullins and his wife, Bernice, of Israel, Dale Cullins of Sebastopol, Calif.; a daughter, Gail Gentry and her husband, Richard, of Boston, Mass.; a brother, Gene Cullins of Waterbury, Conn.; a sister, Jennie Holmes of Tamplin, Va.; four foster sisters, Laura Lollis of Largo, Fla., Irma Corns of Buena Park, Calif., Erma Watt of Norridewock, and Thelma Mallows of Chatham, Mass.; six grandchildren, Raymond E. Cullins, Robert Cullins, Ryan Cullins, Allan Cullins, Gail Michaud, and Kate Cullins; six great-grandchildren, Liam, Grace, Jacob, Aaron, Ethan, and Cameron; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Gaylen Cullins. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with the Rev. Carlos deCruz officiating. Friends may call 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home. A military committal service will be at Pine Tree Cemetery, Easton in the spring.
