BANGOR and HAMPDEN Raymond J. Gallant, 83, husband of the late Beatrice I. (Gilbert) Gallant, died April 27, 2005, after a long illness. He was born May 9, 1921, in Bangor, the son of the late Cyrus and Jacqueline Gallant. He spent his childhood and attended schools in Brewer. He worked as a roofer for most of his life retiring in the 1980’s. He enjoyed playing cards, repairing clocks and watches and loved life, his family and friends. He is survived by his four children, Joyce Rankin of Hampden, Raymond Gallant of Lowell, Mass., Frederick Gallant of Dunstable, Mass., and Michael Gallant of Searsport; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Teresa and Emeline Kelly, both of Brewer; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, John and Frank Gallant. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 28th, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday, April 29th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 754 Ohio St., Bangor, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin pastor, presider. Internment will be in Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
