OLD TOWN – Raymond M. Goodin, 74, passed away Thursday April 8, 2004, at a Bangor nursing facility surrounded by his family following a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Old Town, son of the late Adelard and Agnes (Theriault) Goodin. Raymond will be remembered for his kind heart and special love that he had for people. He was generous with all that he had and never put himself before anyone else. His love was unconditional for his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. Raymond was proud to say that he was employed with the University of Maine for 28 years. He enjoyed sharing stories of his life, especially the many memories he had of Florida. Raymond enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He is survived by a daughters, Jennie Holmes and her fianc‚, David Bischoff, Tina Carlow and her husband, Arthur, all of Old Town; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Chelsea, Tyler, Angelique, A.J. and Anthony; one great-grandson, Rory; two brothers, Frederick and Edward; three sisters, Loretta, Florence and Rose; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one special granddaughter, Sarah; five brothers; and one sister. A Celebration of Life will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where friends and family may call 2 p.m. until time of service.
