LEOMINSTER, Mass. – Rena M. (Desjardins) Daigle, 68, died unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003. She was the wife of Joseph L. Daigle of Leominster, with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage last February. She was born in Fort Kent, a daughter of late Albenie and Catherine (Michaud) Desjardins and was educated in Fort Kent schools. Mrs. Daigle, a longtime communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church, worked for more than 20 years at several local businesses. She was also accomplished at quilting and needlework. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Daigle is survived by six children and their spouses, Linda and Norman Poulin of Haverhill, Mass., Diane and George Brenner of Newport, R.I., Terry and Constance Daigle of Elkton, Md., Glenn and Patricia Daigle of Hinesburg, Vt., Wayne and Lisa Daigle of Chelmsford, Mass., and Melissa and Timothy Belanger of Billerica, Mass.; siblings, Florence Madore, Jerry Desjardins, Albert Desjardins, Catherine Miller, Elizabeth Sylvain, Kenneth Desjardins, Margaret Kincaid and Lawrence Desjardins; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jodi Poulin, Catherine and Joseph Daigle, Emily, Peter, Aaron and Halley Daigle, Brittany and Tyler Belanger and Charles Daigle. She was predeceased by siblings, Leola Savage and Richard Desjardins, and her daughter-in-law, Lori (Pavalaitis) Daigle. Funeral services and burial were held Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Leominster, Mass. M. A. Simard and Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster, Mass. was in charge of arrangements.
