RENE P. LEVESQUE GRAND ISLE – Rene P. Levesque, 82, died peacefully at his residence in Grand Isle on Dec. 29, 2003. He was born in Grand Isle, Feb.12, 1921, the son of Able and Laura (Lavoie) Levesque. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was the oldest member of the Thomas O. Cyr Legion Post No. 147 of Madawaska. He is survived by his wife, Azilda (Cyr) Levesque of Grand Isle; four sons, Eldon and his companion, Rinette Cyr, of E. Hartford, Conn., Norman and his wife, Jeannine, of Newington, Conn., Lionel and his wife, Gerry, of Portland, Ray of Madawaska; five sisters, Gertrude Hughes of St. Petersburg, Fla., Simone Chasse of New Britain, Conn., Antoinette Beaulieu of Manchester, Conn., Marcella Tardif of Bristol, Conn., Verna Norsworthy of Hebron, Conn.; two brothers, Maurice Levesque of Rocky Hill, Conn., Clarence Levesque of Weathersfield, Conn.; four granddaughters, Karen, Lorean, Ashley, and Kassie Levesque; four grandsons, Kevin, Jason, Justin and Nathan Levesque; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Adrien and Raould Levesque. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Gerard Church in Grand Isle. Friends and relatives may call at the Daigle Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services on Saturday. Interment will be in St. David Cemetery in the spring.
