SAINT FRANCIS – Rene Walker, 79, beloved husband of Claudette (Ouellette) Wal-ker, passed away Aug. 12, 2005, in Boston, Mass, at the West Roxbury V.A. Hospital from complications after surgery. Rene was born June 4, 1926, the fourth son of Ernest and Eunice (Castonguay) Walker. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division during World War II. He received the Army Occupation and the World War II Victory Medals. He was a member of the American Legion of St. Francis. Besides his wife, Claudette, of St. Francis, he is survived by two daughters, Terry Walker and her husband, Lester, of Tolland, Mass., Carol Anne Morgan and her husband, Albert, of St. Francis and Grafton, N.H.; and one son Darrell Rene Walker of St. Francis; nine grandchildren, Nathan, Brady, Bill and Courtney Walker, Mathew and Clayton Morgan, Leah Davenport Walker, Darrell Rene Jr. and Kirstie Walker; five great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jewelianna Walker, Piper and Abbie Morgan and Allee Morgan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; two brothers, Leo Walker of Caribou, Morris Walker and his wife, Charlene, of St. Francis; three sisters, Mary Ouellette of Marlborough, Conn., Betty Jandreau and her husband, Adrien, of St. Francis, Patricia Nadeau of St. Francis; also four sisters-in-law, Sylvia Ouellette, Bertile Walker, Dean Walker and Kate Ouellette. He was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Edgar; and two sisters, Nellie and Margaret. A committal service with full military honors will be held 11 a.m. Monday Aug. 22, 2005, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou with the Rev. Joachim Tanh officiating. Following the committal service family and friends are invited to the Crown Park Inn in Caribou for a luncheon and fellowship. Arrangements are being conducted by the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
