TRESCOTT – Richard “Dickie” Huntley Sr., 59, died unexpectedly Friday, March 23, 2007, at Down East Community Hospital, Machias. Richard was born July 24, 1947, in Lubec, son of the late Basil and Evelyn (Harmon) Huntley. He married Karen Seeley, Feb. 5, 1971, in Lubec. For the majority of his 41 years, Richard was employed as the highway foreman for the Town of Lubec. He also served as a police officer for the Lubec Police Department for 16 years and served on the Lubec Fire Department for many years. Richard was a member of Christian Temple Church and enjoyed hunting, operating heavy equipment and spending time with his family. Surviving are his loving wife of more than 36 years, Karen; two sons, Richard Huntley Jr. and wife, Teresa, of Trescott and Timothy Huntley and wife, Mary, of Lubec; a brother, Robert Huntley of Lubec; five grandchildren, Matt, Leann, Amanda, Megan and Stephanie; four sisters-in-law, Wanda Hargrove and companion, Dave Jacques, of Florida, Paulette Mulholland and husband, Bruce, of Cathance Lake, Joan Roberge and husband, William, of Wells and Sharon Prout and companion, Ed Fagonde, of Jonesport; a brother-in-law, Mike Seeley and wife, Debbie, of East Machias; a special cousin, but more like a brother, Milton Guptill; a special friend, Jack Fuller, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Tuesday at Christian Temple Church, 41 Main St., Lubec, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Burial will be after the service at Greenfield Cemetery, Lubec.
